How to Take Liquid Sample from a Flexitank/Flexibag Before Unloading?

Taking samples out of the flexibag is not recommended unless it is carried out by trained operators using a special sampling device according to flexitank supplier procedures.

Here we would like to describe the process of sampling for customer reference.

Preparations

Precautions:
● Open the right door carefully.
● Left door should be kept closed until the flexitank is substantially empty.
● It is necessary to take some measures to prevent the liquid from leaking.

Sampling Tool:

1. LAF Sampling Tool for Bottom Valve and Top Valve (Sample Cap for Bottom Valve; Manual Liquid Hose for Top Valve)

2. Storage: Wide mouthed glass jar or plastic bottles in a clean condition. Bottle material could be decided by the liquid cargo.

Note: In case the liquid cargo have strict demand about plasticizer content, glass gar is recommend to keep the liquid sample.

Sampling Process

Bottom Valve:

1. Remove the anti-dust cap from bottom valve

2. Fix the sampling cap for bottom valve

3. Get the Jar or Bottle ready in the spout of the sampling cap

4. Lift the handle of valve or open the safe lock of valve, twist the valve handle slowly, hold it once the liquid come out. No need to open the valve completely.

5. When the liquid sample is enough, close the valve.

Top Valve:

1. Open the top valve

2. Insert the tube into the valve, and manually take the liquid cargo from the top valve.

3. Transfer the liquid from tube to the bottle.

4. Close the top valve.
