PTA (Purified Terephthalic Acid), is typically white crystals or powder at room temperature, with no distinct odor. It is relatively low in toxicity but can cause some irritation to the skin and mucous membranes. Derived from crude oil and petroleum naphtha, its upstream material is PX (Paraxylene), while its direct downstream product is polyester. Polyester encompasses various forms including filament yarns, staple fibers, bottle-grade flakes, and film-grade flakes, all of which are closely intertwined with our daily lives. Filament yarns and staple fibers are predominantly used in textile apparel, constituting common materials in everyday clothing, while bottle-grade flakes are transformed into a myriad of mineral water bottles and beverage containers.
